The Rutile Blue glaze I use offers a lot of variety. The glaze is very sensitive to the thickness of the application, and even more sensitive to the kiln's atmosphere. The nature of the Rutile Blue glaze is to provide a mottled surface ranging from milky blue to lavender, with white, tan, grey, and black streaks. So, the glaze is predictably unpredictable, providing a beautiful array of color.
