Handbuilt gallery

Starting with a simple draped slab of clay, I sculpt the edges, adding folds and incising to give the piece form and depth. Sometimes I'll then carve into the clay to direct the flow of glaze during the firing, other times I'll apply the glaze to take advantage of the natural form of the pot, resulting in a varigated pool of color. The smaller pieces originate from the humble pinch pot, formed from a ball of clay in the palms of my hands. It is a meditative process, filled with spirit.
